Our parents can be assured our staff are trained to the highest standard. We work in conjunction with a private training organisation, Aurelia Training Ltd, an Ofsted Grade 2 provider, and provide excellent on-site and classroom training for all our staff throughout their employment.
This begins with a rigorous induction programme which includes safeguarding, child protection and health & safety provision, and extends into full training programmes. We have our own purpose built training centre at our nursery in Northfield, which is ideally located for our own staff and employees from other local schools and nurseries.
We regularly invite other nurseries to join in with our training – we find this benefits all staff as they get to share experience and knowledge of a range of settings.

Aurelia Training deliver a wide range of training courses for First Steps, including First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding up to the Level 3 Diploma in Children's Learning and Development, Team Leading and higher level Management qualifications.
These qualifications support our staff throughout their career at First Steps, from starting as an Apprentice to Room Leader and Management positions.
